Aired on Thursday, October 25, 2007, on The CW
(NOW - CHURCH) - To the horror of a nun and priest staring up at him, a distraught man named Andy announces that God isn't with them anymore, and can't help them--and if He can, He won't. Before the priest can question him, Andy shoots himself under his chin--and dies, falling over the pulpit. The nun screams.

"Could just be a suicide and a psychotic scrapbooker," suggests Dean, who wishes for a demon or two in South Beach. Maybe next time, grins Sam. Dean wonders if Bobby could have the Colt, which lies in pieces, ready by this afternoon if they go check out this case. It won't kill demons, says Bobby, but I can promise it will kill YOU--and he points part of the gun at Dean. The boys grin and head off. Bobby makes them promise to call if they run into anything. He shoots them a look of fondness behind their backs. (CHURCH, ELIZABETHVILLE, OH) - Sam and Dean, posing as insurance men, question the priest, Father Gil, who says Andy stopped coming to church two weeks ago--when everything else started to change. This used to be a town you could be proud of; everyone cared about each other. Andy used to sing in the choir, he stopped coming to church, it was like he was. . . "Possessed?" finishes Sam. "You could say that," agrees the priest--"gambled away his money, cheated on his wife, destroyed his business." Tony Perkins, the man who killed the people in the hobby shop, same thing as Andy, changed about two months ago. They leave the church, discussing that this town turned into Margaritaville at the same time Devil's Gate opened--no coincidence. (MOTEL) - Dean and Sam enter their mirrored-ceiling room, Sam laughing as he looks up at it. Across the hall, Dean spots Richie, a New Jersey hunter friend, in a porkpie hat and gold chain, leaving a room across the hall. Also leaving is Cheryl, a tall, busty hooker Richie calls his sister, whom he hands a wad of cash she stuffs in her cleavage. The three men watch her walk away, admiring her legs in a very short skirt. "Stepsister," amends Richie, embarrassed. Dean invites him in. Sam asks how they know each other; Dean explains he was in school. They met chasing a succubus with a huge rack, explains Richie, "Freakin' tragedy when I had to gank her." Dean and Richie dither over WHO killed the succubus, and Dean reminds him he's told him he isn't cut out for this job--"You're gonna get yourself killed." Richie takes a phone call, interrupting to tell Dean, "FYI, Winchester, words hurt." Richie tells them he hasn't found any demons in this town; as for his "sister," she definitely had the devil in her, but she "Wasn't no demon, you know what I'm sayin'?" Like the brothers, he can't prove church guy or hobby shop guy were possessed. Why would a demon possess a body, then kill himself? Like taking a stolen car for a joyride? suggests Richie, then brings up Trotter, who turned from nice guy to bastard--he practically owns the town and brought in the gambling and hookers. Trotter will be at his bar in a few hours. (TROTTER'S BAR) -"Run Through the Jungle" plays as Dean and Sam survey the town, bustling with hookers and teeming with people. "I thought you said this was a boarded-up factory town," says Dean. It's supposed to be, says Sam. Dean is anxious to do some RESEARCH! He passes by a car, then returns to take another look; a hot hooker beckons him inside, but Sam drags him along--they have work to do! The bar inside is packed, people drinking and hooking up. Richie, now dressed like Charlie Sheen's character in TWO AND A HALF MEN, greets them, hair slicked back. Dean teases him about bringing back silk. How much do those clothes cost him? "Fuggadabout it!" advises Richie. (This is an endearing character, seriously!) Richie shows them which guy is Potter, a balding fellow he says sits there all night--"Can't touch 'im." Spying a raven-haired bartender, Dean wants to go investigate her, but Richie says they have sumpin' sumpin' going on later. Dean doesn't believe him. "Stings, don't it?" says Richie, and heads off to "Release the hostages." Dean refuses to believe Richie can get someone that beautiful; "You can fit that ass on a nickel," says Dean. Then he realizes he's said this in front of the priest and apologizes. The priest knew they would find their way here, all of his flock has, that's why he comes here, too. Plus clergy drinks free, says Casey, the stunning bartender, pouring him a drink. The priest reminds her she owes him a confession. "Not in this lifetime, Father," she says, downing a shot. "I better see your butt on Sunday," he warns her, and, leaving the stool, says to Dean, "nickel or no nickel." She asks what she can get the boys. Dean asks what her specialty is. "I make a mean Hurricane," she says. "We'll see about that," says Dean, staring into her eyes. Grinning, she goes to make one for him. "You drink Hurricanes?" asks Sam, smiling. "I do now," says Dean. A man wanders into the bar, a gun in his hand. He tells another man, Chuck, he isn't feeling like himself, and shoots him. Before he can kill himself, Dean jumps him. Sam sprinkles holy water on him--nothing! "The bastard slept with my wife," cries the gun-wielder. "Somebody call 911!" yells Sam. The bartender does so. Sam catches Trotter's eye and they exchange a long stare. Later, Sam and Dean sit in the bar, watching the cops take the killer away in handcuffs. Maybe this is just a town full of scumbags, suggests Dean. The sheriff comes over and asks if they're ready for their mug shots--the photographer wants a picture for the local paper. Although Dean tells him it will be a thrill and an honor, they realize they have to book, now. Dean notices Richie's gone. (CASEY'S SECLUDED HOUSE) - Richie asks how she affords a place like this. "My parents left it to me," she explains, "I don't come out here much, just when I want to be alone." She takes him downstairs into a dank basement, and he asks if she wouldn't prefer a bedroom, or his hotel room. "I've got oils," he says. "I've got toys," she counters. "Toys trump oils," he admits, nervously licking his lips. She lights candles. "You don't get scared down here all by yourself?" he asks. "Of course not, not when I have a hunter to protect me," she says. Her eyes go black. Richie reaches for his knife, but he isn't fast enough; she twists his head, breaking his neck. He falls to the ground, dead, blood spilling from his mouth. (And what a sad way to lose a great character!) read less
Scene 4 Dean searches for Richie; Sam for Trotter, Bobby and Ruby (00:12:25 - 00:19:45) view scene(BAR) - Sam brings over beers for Dean and himself and notices his brother's untouched hamburger. "You do know there's red meat within striking distance, right?" asks Sam. Dean, on his cell, is worried that Richie's in trouble, the kind he always warned him about. Maybe he bailed? suggests Sam. He's a sweet moron, but he wouldn't do that, says Dean--I'm going to go look for him. Sam wants to check out Trotter--something about the way he looked at him last night disturbs him. (BOBBY'S HOUSE) - Shooting the Colt at a hung-up bag of sand, Bobby misses by a mile. Sand spills from the bag. He makes some adjustments. Ruby shows up. "Cute piece," she remarks. (LMAO, I have a dirty mind.) When she reveals she's a demon, he's pleased to have a test subject. She holds out her arms. "Take your best shot," she offers. When he hesitates, she asks if he's going to stand there like a pantywaist, or is he going to. . . And he shoots her, right in the heart! "Ouch! That smarts a little," she complains. To his astonishment, she offers to help him out with the gun. (TROTTER'S OFFICES) - Sam waits around the corner; his phone rings. He quickly answers. It's Dean, but Sam can't talk--"Meet me in the bar in 20 minutes," he whispers. Trotter's bodyguard checks the hallway, but finds no one and goes back into the office. Dean, waiting at the bar, is hit on by a pointy-nosed hooker who tells him every gal at the bar wants to eat him up. Dean says anyone could have tackled that guy, gotten the gun away, prevented mass murder. She offers to shave 200 bucks off her normal fee of 400, and suggests they go. "What do I look like?" each asks the other. "Cheapskate," she says, and walks off. Casey asks if he just struck out with a prostitute. "I told her I had a thing for the bartender," smiles Dean. He asks if she has something going with a guy, yea tall (Richie's height), wears a sweat suit? Who? she asks. No, agrees Dean--what do you say you and me grab a drink after your shift? I say why wait when we can go right now? she asks sexily. They leave together. (TROTTER'S OFFICE) - No sooner do Trotter and his bodyguard exit than Sam enters his office and begins rifling through his stuff. Unfortunately, the bodyguard returns and Sam gets in a few good punches before Trotter aims a gun at his face and threatens to call the cops. This puzzles Sam. "Breaking and entering, assault--you're in a peck of trouble, my friend," says Trotter. Sam grabs the gun away from Trotter, who tells him to take the money in the safe and go. "I don't want your money, I just gotta be sure," says Sam, splashing both men with holy water--no reaction. "What kind of psycho are you?" demands Trotter. "Oh, God," says Sam, mortified, "I'm sorry, "I think this was just a minor misunderstanding? How about I just leave. . ." He empties the gun of bullets, puts it down and, totally embarrassed, leaves. (BARTENDER'S BASEMENT) - "Looks like the maid's day off," quips Dean. She searches for but can't find Richie's body. "Everything OK?" asks Dean. She slips off her jacket and kisses him on the lips. "Make yourself comfortable," she says, flicking on a light switch, still searching for the body. "Oh, I forgot to mention," says Dean, "Richie was a friend of mine, when I realized I could track the GPS in his cell phone, I swung by earlier, gave him a proper burial--it's better than rotting in some skank's basement." She leaps at him, but falls backward. "Oops," says Dean, tossing back a throw rug to reveal that he has drawn a Devil's Trap on the floor, imprisoning her. "Isn't that a buzz kill? Sorry, sister. But you're goin' back to where you came from. He pulls a bible from his jacket. "I don't think so," she intones in a deep, creepy voice. She closes her eyes. Wind begins to blow, making the chandelier above their heads spin. Pages from the bible blow out of the book binding and away. The basement floor opens up; walls crack and huge rocks rain down, trapping them inside. She smiles at him. "You laughing bitch!" he says--"You're still trapped. "So are you--bitch," she retorts. read less
Scene 5 Dean and Casey learn about each other; Sam seeks the wrong help (00:19:46 - 00:29:18) view sceneIn the wreckage of the basement, Dean lights candles and searches for the bible. "Lose something?" asks Casey. "All you demons have such smart mouths," he says. He wants to see if she's still smiling when he returns her to hell. Without your little exorcism book? she taunts. "Havin' a little trouble there, sport?" she says. He tries again. I think you just ordered a pizza, she teases--you should have paid more attention in Latin class. He doesn't get why she's smiling--she's not going anywhere. Neither are you, she says. "I got someone comin'," brags Dean, "and he did pay attention in class." "Right, Sam, everyone says he's the brains of the outfit," she says. "Everyone?" repeats Dean, taken aback. Sure, she says, you Winchester boys are famous. I'll be sure to let Sam know when he gets here, says Dean. If he gets here first, she says--I'm not flying solo--don't underestimate, Dean, it might be the death of you--"We just have to wait to see who shows up first--the Calvary. . .or the Indians." (TROTTER'S BAR) - Sam stands, waiting for Dean. The same hooker Dean turned down is eying him, noting how tense he looks--"I know a surefire way to relax," she says. Maybe later, says Sam, who has to heavily grease the male bartender's palm with money to find out that Dean left with Casey to go to her house for bible study about an hour ago. When Sam asks for her address, the bartender refuses to give it to him--what, so he can get his freakin' peepin' tom rocks off? Another twenty reveals "corner of Clinton and Pierpont--have fun." As he's leaving, the hooker tongues a cherry to make sure he doesn't forget her. (CASEY'S BASEMENT) - Dean sets up a barrel so he's closer to a window, hoping his cell phone will get service. Casey urges him to relax. "Kiss my a**," he says. "Why Dean, you're a poet, I had no idea," she teases, "we won't have any affect on the outcome of this, might as well be civil." He reminds her she killed Richie, that was NOT civil--Richie was harmless. He pulled a knife on me! she says. (Actually, he never got a chance to do so.) A knife wouldn't harm you, Dean reminds her. Casey has a fine body, I wouldn't want to see it ripped, says the demon. A demon with a heart, says Dean, there's a bunch of dead people in town who might disagree with you. I didn't pull any triggers, she says. You did somethin', he insists. All I did was have lunch with Trotter, where I pointed out the money that could be made with a few businesses that cater to harmless vice--so Trotter built it, and man, did they come! Supposedly God-fearing folk, waist-deep in booze, sex, gambling--I barely lifted a finger--all you gotta do is nudge humans in the right direction, some whiskey here, a hooker there, and they'll walk right into hell with big, fat smiles on their faces-- your kind is corrupt, Dean, weak, our will is stronger, that's why we'll win. "And that's how it ends," smirks Dean. "No," she says, "that's how it begins." (CASEY'S APARTMENT) - Sam steps on a fluffy piggie slipper and finds sulfur residue on the floor. (CASEY'S BASEMENT) - Casey and Dean sit, talking like a couple of old pals. "So demons take over," says Dean, "I thought the meek shall inherit the earth." "According to your bible," says Casey, "it's only a book." "Not everyone would agree," says Dean. "Because it's God's book?" she asks--"Do you believe in God?--I'd be surprised if you did." "I don't know, I'd like to," admits Dean. "Well I don't see how you and your God have done such a bang-up job," she says, "war, genocide, it's only getting worse, this past century, you people have racked up a body count that amazed even US--it's our turn now, and we're gonna do it right this time." Hearing a noise, Dean gets up to check. "Don't be hopeful," she says, "you're not delivered--it's only the wind." (BAR) - Sam calls Bobby on his cell to report he's found sulfur and now he can't find Dean--call ASAP! Sam tells the male bartender he couldn't find them and is offered a drink and urged to relax. "I don't want to relax!" cries Sam. "What is it with the people in this town?" "Suite yourself, princess," says the bartender, and drinks the shot he poured for Sam. Spotting Father Gil sitting at the bar, Sam asks to speak to him. (BASEMENT) - Pacing the basement's confined space, Dean says, "You're pilin' it up pretty high there, sweetheart, I'm not sure I'm buyin' it." Why would I lie? she asks. Demons lie, he says. Some do, she agrees, some are true believers. Believers in what? Dean asks. Do only humans have an exclusive on a higher power? asks Casey. You have a God? asks Dean, smiling. Sure, his name is Lucifer, she says. You mean the devil? says Dean. Your word, not ours, says Casey--Lucifer actually means light-bringer, look it up. Once, he was the most beautiful of all God's angels, but God demanded that he bow down before Man, and when he refused, God banished him--tell me, Dean, how do you like bowing before lesser creatures? "Lucifer's really real?" asks Dean, bemused. No one's actually seen him, admits Casey, but they say he made us into what we are and they say that he'll return. And you believe that? asks Dean. "I've got faith," she says, "so you see--is my kind all that different from yours?" "Except that demons are evil," says Dean. "And humans are such a lovable bunch," she counters, "Dick Cheney." "He one of yours?" asks Dean. "Not yet," she says, "let's say he's got a parking spot reserved for him downstairs." Dean smiles and shakes his head, the asks, "Speakin' of downstairs, what's it like down there?" He tries to look nonchalant, and fails. "That's right, you booked a one-way ticket with that deal," she says. He smiles almost proudly. "You're not gonna like it, Dean," she says, "and, judging by the trouble you've caused, you're not going to be getting the Presidential Suite. It's a pit of despair--why do you think we want to come up here?" Dean looks about the way you would expect for a man hearing such news. (BAR) - The priest tells Sam he's known Casey since she was in pigtails. Uncomfortably, Sam explains, "She and my brother left. . .together." The priest doesn't approve, but they are consenting adults--"You said brother, I thought the two of you are insurance investigators." They are, says Sam, it's a family business. (Good catch, Sam!) "I went to Casey's apartment and they weren't there," says Sam, "I have this feeling they might be in trouble." Fortunately, the priest knows a place she would go, and offers to go with him, despite Sam's assurance he can go himself--"If Casey's in trouble, there's nothing to talk about." The priest slips into his jacket, his back to Sam, and his eyes go black. (Guess the Calvary and Indians are arriving at the same time!) "Shall we go?" he says. read less

Hilarious, Dean agrees, in that apocalyptic sort of way. "You're all right," she praises, "the others don't describe you that way, but you're likable." "A demon likes me," says Dean, "sorry, I don't know how to respond to that." "A demon likes me," says Dean, "sorry, I don't know how to respond to that." "Say thanks," she suggests, and goes on to say that, unlike others, she doesn't think the deal he made for Sam was weak or stupid. It's been liberating, actually, says Dean--what's the point of worrying about a future if you don't have one? Still, a year to live, she reminds him--"You're not scared?--not even a little." "Of course not," says Dean, his eyes doing the lying for him. (IFATHER GIL'S CAR) - The priest asks Sam if he likes insurance investigating. Sam says yes, he likes helping people. Ever think of doing anything else? Father Gil asks, "You seem like a pretty smart kid--somehow I see you in front of the pack--you could do some great things." (Like lead a demon army, perhaps?) "I dunno," answers Sam, "I like doin' what I'm doin', I guess." "It's your life," says the priest, "because Dean--does he find trouble often?" His fair share, admits Sam. "It's a good thing he has you, his brother's keeper," says the priest. (BASEMENT) - Casey lies down on the carpet, stretching, her breasts nearly falling out of her snug red blouse. She catches Dean staring and says, "Why Dean, if I didn't know better, I'd say that was lust in your eyes--well, it would be one way to spend the time. I don't think you'd respect me in the morning." She turns on her side, smiling at him. "That's OK," he says, "I barely respect you now." They grin at each other. He asks her what's supposed to happen now that the demon army has been released from the gate. There WAS a plan, she explains, Azazel was a tyrant, but he held them all together. "Azazel?" questions Dean. His friends didn't call him Yellow Eyes, she says, he had a name--after you did him in, it all fell apart. Sorry about that, says Dean--so what, no chain of command? "There was," says Casey, "it was Sam." Dean is stunned. She continues, "Sam was supposed to be the Grand Pooh Bah and lead the big army, but he hasn't exactly stepped up to the plate, has he?" "Thank God for that," says Dean. "Again with God," she laughs, "now you've got chaos, a war without a front, hundreds of demons, all jockeying for power, most of them gunning for your brother. For the record, I was ready to follow Sam." Dean gazes at her, brow furrowed. Upstairs, the priest's car pulls up. "Dean!" calls Sam, knocking at the front door. "Looks like you win," says Casey. Dean scrambles to his feet. Receiving no response at the door, Sam tells Father Gil, "Check that way," and he heads in the opposite direction. Hearing Dean calling, Sam peers down into the basement grate. "The basement caved in," says Dean. Learning that Sam came with the Father, seeing the hope on Casey's face, Dean warns Sam to be careful. Sam turns and finds himself face to face with the priest, who shows off his black eyes and starts advancing on Sam. A gunshot takes the head off a statue very close to the Father, who turns and launches Bobby, Colt in hand, up and then down on the ground, hard. Before Sam can douse him in holy water, the Father sends Sam flying onto his car's windshield. The priest heads purposefully into the house. Painfully, Sam slides off the car and makes sure Bobby is OK, taking the gun the older man pushes into his hand. Ruby, standing off to the side, grinning, urges, "You heard the man--go." (BASEMENT) - Father Gil uses his powers to force the rocks out of his way, then sends Dean violently to the ground. "Stop!" warns Casey, before the faux Priest steps into the Devil's Trap. The Father kneels and pounds it once with his fist, breaking the seal. We watch from above as the two of them stand in the center of the trap, wrap their arms around each other and kiss lustily. Dean struggles to his feet, points between them and says, "You two?" "For centuries," says the Father, "we've been to hell and back--literally." He lifts Dean up by the throat with one hand. "Don't kill him, let's just go, please," begs Casey, as Dean's feet dangle above the ground. Sam, eyes filled with hate and anger, shoots Father Gil in the heart with one of the Colt's bullets. Dean falls to the floor. Casey watches, horrified, as her lover dies in a spectacular light show of special effects. "SAM!" shouts Dean, trying to stop him from shooting Casey, but it's too late; she dies in the Devil's Trap beside her lover, their blood mingling together. read less

"That you or that demon girl talkin'?" asks Bobby. "It's me," says Dean, "the demon is dead, and so is that hot girl she was possessing." "Had to be done," says Bobby, "Sam was saving your life." "You didn't see it, Bobby," says Dean, "it was cold." He goes on to tell Bobby about Yellow Eyes suggestion back in Wyoming that when Sam came back from death, maybe he came back different in a way that didn't sound good. "Do you think something's wrong with my brother?" asks Dean. "No," says Bobby, "demons lie--I'm sure Sam's OK." "Yeah, me too," says Dean, but uncertainly. (HOTEL ROOM) - In the mirrored ceiling, we see Sam angrily throwing things on the bed. Ruby joins him. "Leaving so soon?" she asks--"We haven't even had a chance to celebrate." Celebrate without me, he says coldly. Don't get all pouty, she says, grinning, you killed two demons today. I killed two humans, too, says Sam. She reminds him that when demons piggyback humans, they leave them "rode hard and put away wet," and chances are they would have died a slow, sticky death--you probably did them a favor. "Did them a favor?" asks Sam--"You're a cold bitch, you know that?" She reminds him "this cold bitch" has saved his ass a couple of times now; some respect might be nice, especially if he still wants her help with Dean and his little problem. Sam picks the Colt up off the bed. You keep dangling that, says Sam, but last time I checked, Dean's still going to hell. Everything in its own time, says Ruby, but there's a quid pro quo here--we're in a war. I know, says Sam, but for some reason, you're fighting on our team--why is that again? Go screw yourself, that's why, she replies--I don't have to justify my actions to you--you don't want my help, fine--then give me the gun and I'll pass it on to someone who can use it. "Maybe I'll just use it on you," he says, pressing it to her breastbone, cocking it. "Go ahead, if that makes you happy," she says, shrugging, "it's not gonna do much for Dean, though--so what's it gonna be, mm?" Sam uncocks the gun and removes it from her breastbone. "That's my boy," she says--"This won't be easy, Sam, you're gonna have to do a few things that go against that gentle nature of yours. There'll be collateral damage, but it has to be done." "I don't have to like it," he says. "You wouldn't be Sam if you did," says Ruby, "on the bright side, I'll be there with you, that little fallen angel on your shoulder." read less
