Scene 1 Peter gets out of the hospital (00:00:00 - 00:00:37) view scene

Lyle drives the Alvis into the Queen Anne hospital to pick up Peter.

Scene 2 Nigel and Beatrice practice fishing for the competition, and finds all the fish dead (00:00:38 - 00:01:19) view scene

Down at the fly fishing competition at the river, Nigel is showing Beatrice how to fly fish. When she casts, they realize that all the fish are dead.

Scene 3 Everyone fusses over Peter (00:01:20 - 00:03:19) view scene

Credits - Peter on the beach looking out at the sea, he walks Millie back up the shore.

Outside the office, Gloria rushes out to greet Peter and takes his briefcase, and Auriel walks out to say she's made breakfast. They all fuss over and worry about him, and he insists he's fine.

Inside, Beatrice tells Lyle the fishing club wants to talk to him about the dead fish. Gloria answers the phone and wants to take a message, but Peter keeps insisting he's fine, and takes the phon... read more Credits - Peter on the beach looking out at the sea, he walks Millie back up the shore.

Peter drives out to the Morston estate in the country, and stops at a cottage on the property. Lord Morston comes out and introduces his wife Sarah as his two young daughters play on the front lawn with their toys.

Peter and David take a walk as he tells Peter he called because he wants privacy. He asks him to sign a confidentiality agreement, which surprises Peter. Peter and David take a walk as he tells Peter he called because he wants privacy. He asks him to sign a confidentiality agreement, which surprises Peter. He says the family has many titles, and talks about the family history, and his brother Robert, the Duke of Rottingham, who is living in the large house. Peter feels a bit tired and sits down, as he's worried about his health.

David shows Peter his laptop, and says that Robert is auctioning off the family heritage on ebay. Not just pieces, but their actual titles. read less

Scene 5 Robert Morston wants to sell more of his inheritance (00:05:45 - 00:06:19) view scene

In the house, Robert is wearing a minuteman uniform and playing with toy soldiers on a miniature setup of a war scene on a table. He asks his girlfriend (Moonbeam) if they can sell certain things in the room, and she keeps saying that they need permission from certain places and people, but he just wants to sell things.

Scene 6 David is worried his brother is using the money for drugs (00:06:20 - 00:07:10) view scene

Outside, Peter and David hide behind bushes to get toward the house. Peter asks why all the secrecy, and he says that he's worried Robert is using the money for heroin.

They look at the house, and see Robert on the verandah bouncing around on an inflatable ball to disco music.

Scene 7 Lyle inspects the dead fish in the river (00:07:11 - 00:07:42) view scene

At the river, Lyle inspects the dead fish. Nigel says the competition is coming up soon and it's a disaster. Lyle says they should get some tests done, but it may be some type of disease. Nigel says a disease wouldn't kill fish this quickly - it must be the water. Lyle looks at the skyline and sees smoke stacks from a nearby factory.

Scene 8 Robert shoots at Peter (00:07:43 - 00:08:35) view scene

Peter tells David that he'll look into it, and David warns Peter to drive quickly by the house, as Robert doesn't like visitors.

Peter drives toward the main house, and Robert sees him coming. He loads a shotgun and aims at Peter and the Alvis and fires, and misses. Peter backs up quickly and leaves.

Scene 9 Peter warns Lyle not to jump to conclusions; Beatrice practices her fly fishing (00:08:36 - 00:09:56) view scene

At the office, Peter walks in and he's beat, complaining about the "Duke of Rottingham" who is crazy. Gloria is worried about him. Lyle walks in wtih a bag of dead fish, assuming it's the factory's fault. Peter asks if he's sure, and Lyle says there isn't any other likely source.

They hear glass break, and Peter walks out frustrated to find Beatrice. In the backyard, Beatrice is practicing her fly fishing, and has broken a window, ruins his roses, a statue, and rips his suit. Scene 10 Emily wants Lyle to meet her father (00:09:57 - 00:11:04) view scene

Emily walks into Lyle's office and hands him his watch that he left at her house. She tells him her father is coming for a visit and wants to meet him. He's nervous. In reception, Snell is waiting for Peter, and Gloria sees Peter's torn jacket. Snell says he wants to talk to Peter about collecting rent he's owed - he has many properties that Peter never knew about. Peter tells him to make an appointment.

Scene 11 Robert runs around naked (00:11:05 - 00:11:42) view scene

At David's house, Sarah tells David she got by the house ok, but he's "doing it again."

At the main house, Robert has painted his body with colors, as he runs naked around the front fountain, and Moonbeam films it. He jumps in the fountain, and swims around looking for his ducks. David looks on from afar.

Scene 12 Peter apologizes to Beatrice (00:11:43 - 00:12:35) view scene

Beatrice is tweaking her fly (fishing), and Peter walks in and apologizes for yelling at her for making a mess. She says he doesn't care about what she does, but Peter says he cares more about her than anyone since she's his sister, which makes her happy.

Scene 13 Peter maps the Morston bloodline (00:12:36 - 00:13:32) view scene

Lyle walks into reception reading a law book and asks Gloria what "smart casual" means, and she guesses he's meeting Emily's parents.

Gloria walks into Peter's office and a large roll of paper hangs across his walls detailing the family heritage of the Morstons, who are under the house of Windsor.

Scene 14 David follows his brother (00:13:33 - 00:14:02) view scene

At the shore, David calls Peter and apologizes for his brother shooting at him. David is following Robert who leaves a shop and gets in a transport van in town.

Scene 15 Mr. Kerwin tells Lyle his daughter is effected by the contaminated river; Peter checks the medical dictionary (00:14:03 - 00:14:58) view scene

Gloria serves Mr. Kerwin tea in reception, and Lyle walks out and meets him. He says he owns a place down by the river, and says his daughter Briony went swimming in the river and now has blisters all over her body.

Peter is in his office looking at Black's Medical Dictionary, and inspects his eyes and tongue to see what might be wrong with him. Nothing seems out of place.

Scene 16 Lyle inspects Briony's blisters (00:14:59 - 00:16:12) view scene

Lyle rides his bike to Mr Kerwin's farm and he looks at Briony's leg, which has blisters all over it, and takes a picture of it. Lyle hands Mr. Kerwin some lab results that say it was chlorine that killed the fish, and he says he'll makes sure whomever is responsible will pay.

Scene 17 Lyle messes up his payment deal; Peter buys a title on eBay (00:16:13 - 00:17:52) view scene

Peter is still in his office checking his own pulse and glands - all is ok. Lyle walks in and he asks him where one would buy heroin. He changes the subject and Lyle shows Peter the photos of the girl's leg.

Peter warns Lyle to tread carefully with the chemical companies, and finds out that Lyle offered the Kerwins no-win no-fee, which bothers Peter since chemical companies have deep pockets and expensive lawyers.

Scene 18 Lyle finds out how Mr. Kerwin's wife died (00:17:53 - 00:18:22) view scene

At the Kerwins, Lyle calls Mr. Kerwin and asks what his wife died of, and he says cancer.

Scene 19 Lyle visits the chemical company (00:18:23 - 00:19:33) view scene

Lyle rides his bike to the chemical plant, and shows an executive the contamination report and photos of the Briony's leg. He tells Lyle there are no leaks, and they have a high safety record, and can prove they haven't contaminated the river.

Lyle goes back to his bike, and finds a dead rat near it.

Scene 20 Snell bought a title off eBay and wants to enforce the rules (00:19:34 - 00:20:16) view scene

Snell walks in to see Peter, and hands him a wrinkled piece of parchment that says he is the alderman of Market Shipborough, and he has a right to demand rents. He bought the title on ebay from the Duke of Rottingham. Peter tells him there isn't a case to take, as the Duke is crazy and the titles don't mean anything when sold.

Scene 21 Peter looks into Robert's addiction (00:20:17 - 00:21:23) view scene

At the police station, Peter asks Yelland where someone would get heroin, and Yelland said he'd know any of the users or dealers just to name one. Peter says the name is confidential, and Yelland immediately guesses it's the Duke of Rottingham. Yelland hands Peter Robert's file, and guesses that his brother brought Peter the case. Peter is annoyed that he isn't supposed to divulge anything and Yelland guesses everything.

Scene 22 Peter drives to the estate (00:21:24 - 00:22:01) view scene

At the main estate, Robert is lying on the steps seemingly passed out. Peter drives by and sees him, and stops to check on him. Robert sits up and asks what he's doing, and Peter says he's there to see David. Robert says to go away, and Moonbeam is taking a photo of him in that pose.

Scene 23 Lyle researches cancer in the area (00:22:02 - 00:22:21) view scene

Lyle sits in his office and pages Gloria and asks if she can find out from the local health authority if there are any cancer clusters in the area.

Scene 24 Peter questions David's motives (00:22:22 - 00:24:08) view scene

Peter asks David about their father's will, and he says the London lawyers have all that information. Peter implies that David merely wants the estate to himself, but David insists that he just wants to look after his brother's well-being, and prevent him from destoying everything including himself. He sees Peter doesn't believe him, and asks what he's doing this evening.

That evening, David drives Peter to the shore and they sit outside a house that he says is his drug dealer. In the morning, Gloria knocks on Peter's bedroom door, and he's still in bed. She suspects he passed out again, but he tries to avoid the subject.

Scene 26 Peter warns Lyle not to get emotionally involved with the Kerwin case (00:25:24 - 00:26:30) view scene

Peter and Lyle are packing the Alvis full of dog food and toys near the market.

Back at the office, some hunting dogs are trickling into the office.

Lyle says that Mr. Kerwin's wife was fine when they moved in, but there's no proof the chemical company is responsible. Peter tells him to be very careful and not to get too emotional.

Scene 27 Peter introduces himself to Robert (00:26:31 - 00:28:04) view scene

At the estate main house, Peter waits outside as Moonbeam answers the door. She leads him inside telling him he has good Karma, and they head to meet Robert. He tells him that he bought the master of the hunt title, and Robert says they left out the trumpet that goes with it.

When Peter tells him he's a solicitor hired by David, Robert throws him out.

Scene 28 Emily buys Lyle a suit (00:28:05 - 00:28:32) view scene

Emily helps Lyle with his outfit so he looks suitable to meet her father (that she bought him). She's very happy with it.

Scene 29 Peter tells David that Robert can sell whatever he wants (00:28:33 - 00:29:29) view scene

Peter tells David about Robert kicking him out, and David is angry that he told him, and fires him. Peter hands David a paper from the London lawyers, but he can't understand it, so he re-hires Peter. He says that they gave Robert permission to sell any unproductive titles or assets.

This annoys and surprises David, and he barks orders to his wife to clean the car - it's now more apparent that David is more of an ass than his brother.

Scene 30 Kerwin is desperate (00:29:30 - 00:30:54) view scene

Lyle rides his bike out to the Kerwins and Mr. Kerwin is loading a shotgun to kill a goat who is sick. He says he can't afford a vet, so the kindest thing is to kill her. She's been eating the grass by the river, and they've been drinking the goat's milk. Lyle says he'll pay for the vet, so he doesn't shoot it.

Mr. Kerwin shows him some wilting cabbage that grew next to the dying grass.

Scene 31 Peter and Lyle both get news (00:30:55 - 00:31:18) view scene

Lyle brings the cabbage into the kitchen where Peter and Beatrice are sitting. Peter's and Lyle's phones both ring at once. Both get shocking news and run away.

Scene 32 Robert confronts David; everyone sits down to talk (00:31:19 - 00:34:06) view scene

Robert is at David's house and has a shotgun on his front lawn.

Peter rushes out of the house and tells Beatrice to call Yelland, and she says she's going with him. Peter realizes she knew Robert in rehab, and asks why she didn't say so earlier - it's confidential.

In Lyle's office, he finds out where the contamination came from.

Beatrice walks toward Robert, and Sarah walks out the front door with the kids. They all introduce each other. Beatrice says he should come out, and Robert tells David to just trust him.

In the main house, everyone sits around to talk. Robert is willing to give David the Duke title if that's what he really wants, and he says he's just worried about Robert - he's followed him to his old dealer. Robert tells him he's completely wrong. Sarah says she's annoyed with David as well, as he just orders her around like a servant. Peter asks what Robert is using the money for if he's not using it for drugs. read less

Scene 33 Robert explains his motives (00:34:07 - 00:35:14) view scene

They all drive out to the shore near where David had followed Robert. A house is being built and Robert explains that it's going to be an addiction center. Moonbeam says they met in a place like it.

Robert apologizes to David if he's offended him by selling the inheritance, but they really don't need things like the right to drive sheep down the high street.

In the middle of town, Snell is driving a herd of sheep down the street, stopping traffic.

Scene 34 Lyle confronts Kerwin with the truth (00:35:15 - 00:37:34) view scene

Lyle rides his bike to the Kerwins. Lyle says he can't represent Mr. Kerwin anymore, and hands him a claim from the fishing club. Lyle says that the contamination came from his land, and there will be more claims down stream. Mr. Kerwin did it on purpose, so he could get money to support him and his daughter since he can't make a living from the land.

Scene 36 Beatrice wins the competition (00:38:23 - 00:40:11) view scene

At the fishing competition, Nigel, Peter and Lyle are watching Beatrice cast in the competition.

In the office, Gloria pours herself a large glass of scotch.

Gloria sits at Peter's desk, halfway through the bottle of scotch. Peter walks in and she's in tears, and says she doesn't know how she'd deal with life without him, and says she loves him. She asks him to marry her before it's too late, and kisses him.

Peter sits in his office nervously looking at his watch. Lyle walks in, and says Emily's father is great and really funny, and he shouldn't have made assumptions. He apologizes when he sees Peter is nervous about the what the test results will bring.

Gloria walks in, and hands him her resignation because it was inappropriate of her to propose to him. Lyle is surprised. Peter sits down with Dr. Scott-Brown in his office, and says it's mixed news. He has Type II diabetes, but it's able to be controlled with diet and exercise. He said there's no way to tell why it happens - could be obesity, or runs in the family. Peter asks if Beatrice and Petra should be tested. The doctor says it's not that simple.

Peter walks back to the office looking sad, and inspects the sign Kingdom & Kingdom. His real news is that the blood tests reveals that he's not related to Beatrice in any way at all. Their father isn't his father at all. Auriel sits down, and says she's known about it.
