Scene 7: Jeff's Place Community

Scene Synopsis -

Scene 1 Waking Up Winger (00:00:00 - 00:00:46) view scene

During Spanish class, Senor Chang catches Pierce throwing bits of paper into a sleeping Jeff's open mouth. Senor Chang finally wakes up Jeff by screaming in his face. After class is dismissed, Troy playfully latches onto Annie's back, saying to Shirley, "Look, I'm Annie's backpack!"

Scene 2 Say There Are Two Friends... (00:00:47 - 00:01:42) view scene

Troy asks for Annie's advice on asking a classmate out on a date. She suggests the "Night Under the Stars" concert on campus that night. Unfortunately, she's not the once he's talking about: it's someone named Randi. Troy misinterprets Annie's confusion as her thinking Randi is a guy.

Scene 3 The Opposite of an Antioxidant (00:01:43 - 00:02:39) view scene

Britta notices that Jeff looks unusually tired and has only shaved half of his face. He changes the subject by pointing out that Vaughn is nearby. She takes the bait and goes up to Vaughn in hopes of reconciling with him. Vaughn, however, has no interest because she's "toxic". Pierce overhears this and offers to talk to him for her, but she adamantly refuses. Pierce decides that means he should talk to him.

Scene 4 That Boy's Living in His Car (00:02:40 - 00:03:25) view scene

Shirley and Britta watch as Jeff brushes his teeth and washes himself in a faucet by the parking lot. Britta wonders what he's doing, but Shirely sets her straight. After all, she made her husband live in his car after he called her "Valerie".

While the group waits for Jeff in the library, Pierce reminisces about the time he lived in his car back in the 70's. He also tells Britta that he tried to talk to Vaughn, but instead of confronting him, he became the keyboardist for his band. When Jeff walks, Shirley lets him know that she and Britta know he's living in his car. Jeff assures them that he's only sleeping in his car for a few nights until he can "pay some meaningless fees" and have the locks put back on the doors. Troy asks Annie if she wants to help him shop for his picnic date. Annie is happy to help, despite Shirley's not-so-silent protests.

Scene 8 Top Bunk or Bottom Bunk? (00:06:22 - 00:08:02) view scene

After Jeff's car is towed, he goes to Abed's dorm and asks if he can live with him. Abed's happily lets him in. Later, Jeff tries to get the money to get his condo back. Abed tells him that he's just like Goldie Hawn's character in the movie Overboard, who realizes that she's happier raising kids with Kurt Russell's character than she ever was getting manicures and being arrogant. Jeff decides it wouldn't be so bad to stay with Abed.

Scene 9 She's a GD B (00:08:03 - 00:09:24) view scene

Annie loans Troy an heirloom quilt for his picnic with Randi. He hugs her, but then he leaves. Shirley tells Annie that she has to let Troy know how she feels about him, but Annie's scared to lose his friendship too. Shirley reminds her that love is all a gamble. Meanwhile, Pierce and Vaughn are performing a new song about "Britta the B---".

Scene 10 Dorming it Up (00:09:25 - 00:10:36) view scene

Jeff and Abed are watching TV together and bond over being raised by television and having negligent dads. Britta comes in to visit but storms off when their other roommate Pavel comes in singing Vaughn and Pierce's song.

Scene 11 Garfunkel-ing Me (00:10:37 - 00:12:16) view scene

Britta interrupts Pierce and Vaughn's band practice to tell them stop playing the song. Vaughn tells her that he just writes what he feels. Pierce gets angry that Vaughn's taking all the credit for the song and they break up the band. Britta interprets Pierce's behavior as defending her honor, though really he was more concerned about the song.

Scene 12 Remember When You Pretended to be My Backpack? (00:12:17 - 00:13:16) view scene

Annie has Troy's picnic perfectly set up. Just as she's about to tell Troy how she feels, she panics and instead tells him her appendix just burst.

Scene 13 Quarantine (00:13:17 - 00:14:19) view scene

Troy takes Annie to the infirmary, where the nurse doesn't find anything wrong with her. Still, Annie pretends to be in a lot of pain so that Troy will stay with her, but the nurse's advice is for her to be quarantined for overnight observation. Troy leaves her to go meet Randi.

Scene 14 Say Goodbye to E.T. (00:14:20 - 00:15:30) view scene

Britta meets up with Abed and Jeff, who has descended into full slacker mode, in the cafeteria. Abed begs her to seduce Jeff into leaving the dorm because living there is not good for him.

Scene 15 Stain Remover on a Turd (00:15:31 - 00:17:20) view scene

Britta somehow steals the Italian platinum faucet from Jeff's condo and gives it to him to install in his new place. Living with less apparently won't make him a better person, so he may as well embrace his shallowness and know that he can be that way no matter where he lives.

Scene 16 Vaughn Moves On (00:17:21 - 00:20:33) view scene

Backstage at the "Night Under the Stars" concert, Pierce reminds Vaughn that he's still out of the band, but also to lay off Britta because she really is a good person. Vaughn says that he's moved on, and the band performs a new song much like the old one, except it's "Pierce, You're a B----". Meanwhile, Troy is about to put his jacket around Randi's shoulders when Annie escapes from the infirmary and screams at him to stop. Pierce works on an insulting song about Vaughn with the rapper who performed in Vaughn's song about him. They are then caught by their song's subject.
