Senor Chang reveals to Jeff that he's not a certified Spanish teacher, and wonders where he can get a fake degree like the one that landed Jeff in Greendale in the first place. Chang also says that if anyone finds out he's a fake, everyone's grades will be null and void. Jeff promises not to tell anyone, but Annie's voice recorder picks up the whole thing.

In a parody of "Good Will Hunting", a math problem on a chalkboard outside a classroom is deemed unsolvable by two students. Troy approaches the chalkboard, looks at the problem, but then turns to use the water fountain. He notices that it doesn't work so he fixes it, but just as he finishes, two janitors chase him away. When they find that he fixed the water fountain, they're amazed.

Annie hears Chang's conversation with Jeff on her voice recorder and decides to tell the dean. If their grades are invalid because of Chang's lack of qualification, then the study group will have to take the course over and they'll be together again. Dean Pelton announces the news to the class the day before finals, but instead of invalidating their grades, an actual Spanish professor, Doctora Escodera, will give the exam. The group quickly discovers that they barely know any Spanish at all.

Jeff, Abed, and Troy leave class to find Senor Chang smashing Jeff's car with his keytar. Chang thinks Jeff ratted him out, and they fight until two security guards have to stop them.

Troy fixes a pipe in the bathroom sink, only to find it's a trap set by the janitor. He tries to convince Troy that his true calling is to be a janitor, not a student.

Jeff discovers that Annie was the one who ratted out Chang and he yells at her that she's psycho and needs to grow up. He gets the others to kick her out of the study group. They study without her all night and wake up 40 minutes before the test.

Abed tells Troy that the best part of his day is looking at the desk next to him and hoping Troy won't be there, because Troy's meant to be a plumber. As the class gathers for the exam, Abed looks at the desk next to him and lo and behold, Troy isn't there. He's across the room, actually, and tells Abed that he doesn't want to sit next to him because he's a bad friend.
