Everyone wants to end the study session early so they can get the chicken fingers at the cafeteria before they run out. Apparently, the chicken fingers are what God would taste like if it were cool to eat God, according to Troy. Britta, of course, is a vegetarian and she holds them up by talking about animal cruelty and also about her cat having diabetes while Pierce tries to invent a new catch phrase.

Shirley's love interest doesn't notice her, bu more pressing issues are at hand. The cafeteria runs out of chicken fingers, but later on, Jeff sees Star Burns giving them out. Star Burns works as a fry cook there, so he must be skimming some fingers off the top and giving them to girls so that they pretend he isn't the weirdo that he is. Jeff decides they should take down the cafeteria system, and the episode takes on the style of the movie "GoodFellas".

The group puts Jeff's plan to work: Britta seduces Star Burns, Annie photographs him giving her free chicken fingers, and Star Burns gets fired. Shirley tears down the posters advertising for the new fry cook position, Abed applies for the job, Pierce impersonates Donald Trump so that Abed can have a perfect job reference. Abed is caught giving some to Senor Chang, but he's worked out a deal that he will give him 8 chicken fingers a day if he inflates each member of the study group's test scores by 10 percent.

These Were the Glorious Times

The entire study group keeps a system of chicken finger bribery, and they become the most powerful people on campus. Pierce has an entourage, Troy gets a pet monkey, Annie gets a bigger and better backpack, Shirley's crush is literally eating out of her hand, and things are getting chaotic. Jeff, the designated leader, can't control them anymore.

The Taste of Control

Jeff, aware that he's lost control of the group, approaches Abed and tells him that maybe they should shut down the operation because it's getting out of hand. Abed suggests that since he's become the real leader of the operation, Jeff has no part in it and the actual reason Jeff wants to stop it is because he can't stand being under someone else's command. Jeff tells him he's crazy and leaves.

Greedy Sell-Outs

Jeff tries to talk the others into leaving the chicken fingers ring, but they all agree that Jeff isn't suggesting it for their own good, but so that he can be the one in charge of them again. When Abed enters the room, no one cares when Jeff walks away, and Troy shuts the door on him just as Pierce bends to kiss Abed's ring.

But What Do They Deserve?

Jeff is stuck eating stew alone in the cafeteria while everyone else enjoys chicken fingers with Abed. Star Burns approaches Jeff and gives him a key to a valve in the fryer that is no longer manufactured. Without the valve, the fryer couldn't work. Jeff is left to decide what, if anything, he should do with it.

These Were the Bad Times

While Jeff leaving the family posed no immediate problems for them, Britta, Troy, Pierce, Shirley, and Annie begin to get spoiled. Feeling unappreciated, Abed sends each of them a message by destroying what they love. He mutilates Annie's new backpack, frees Troy's monkey, cuts the wires to Pierce's new television, puts gum in Britta's newly styled hair, and takes over the feeding of Shirley's dreadlocked crush.

The group asks Jeff to set Abed straight, even though they should have listened to him in the first place. Jeff heads to the kitchen to uninstall the valve, but before he can do it, he sees Abed standing over the fryer. He's trying to make tater tots because just as Jeff predicted, people were getting sick of chicken fingers. Abed tells him that he just wanted to connect with people, and the chicken fingers operation helped him do that, but now he can't keep up with it. Jeff admits that he was j...

Jeff admits that he was jealous of his power, but offers to help him connect to people if Abed will help him do a better job of it. In the end, the group quits the fingers ring, Leonard takes over it, and everything goes back to normal. It is then revealed that the entire episode is a story Abed is telling Dean Pelton as an answer to his question about who stole the hair nets from the kitchen.
