Jeff Is Late

It's been one week since the previous episode. The dean makes the morning announces while Jeff, now driving Duncan's car, parks in a space reserved for faculty. Knowing he is not, in fact, a faculty member, Jeff steals a faculty parking pass from the car next to him.

Everyone But Britta

The rest of the group waits in the library for Jeff. Only Britta is annoyed by his lateness. She reminds the group that Jeff doesn't care about anything, and that there are more important things in the world, like journalists getting killed in Guatemala. This briefly holds their interest until Jeff walks in and makes up for being late by charmingly greeting everyone but Britta. No one chastises Jeff for holding up the study session. Except Britta.

Opening Credits/You're Cute/Let's Protest!

Britta tells Jeff that while he may be cute, he's selfish and narcassitic. Pierce tells Jeff that he's trying too hard to win over Britta. Britta then meets Shirley and Annie outside the library. They were very moved by Britta's speech about Guatemala and since neither of them have had a "real" college experience, they want to hold a candlelight protest and serve brownies. This confuses Britta.

Here We Meet Señor Chang

Here we meet Señor Chang. He is adamant that people don't question why, as a Chinese-American, he teaches Spanish. He then assignes partners for a dialogue presentation. Jeff trades his shirt to Abed to be partners with Britta, but ends up partnered with Pierce.

Jeff and Pierce in the Library with the Scotch

Jeff and Pierce meet in the library to plan their presentation. Pierce gives some unsettling details about his sperm, and Jeff confesses that his pursuit of Britta is getting to him. Pierce says Britta's not worth it, but then he begins to turn a simple presentation into a serious, complicated performance, so he's not exactly a reliable source of advice.

Protest with a Piñata

Shirley and Annie set up a demonstration in the courtyard that will end with a candlelit silent protest in the evening. There is breakdancing, brownies, and a pinata of the journalist who was beaten to death. Britta doesn't agree with how they're handling the event, but then again, Britta's never actually done anything political, as pointed out by Shirley and Annie.

Flaming Senior Alarms Campus

Pierce has drunk most of the scotch, and Jeff is left with an epic in his hands that contains everything but the five vocabulary words needed for the presentation. Troy and Abed show up and ask Jeff and Pierce if they're going to presentation. Their assignment apparently took about five minutes. Britta flirts with Jeff by telling him that she was impressed with his presentation, but only because no woman would ever be sexually attracted to him after that ridiculous display. Jeff is impressed that she looked back at him while she walked away. Pierce approaches Jeff, puts his arm around him, and tries to give him more advice as they walk in the opposite direction as Britta.
