Then they realize that Pierce isn't there but just as they suspect that he's dead, he walks in. Britta finds a brunette hair on Jeff's jacket and forces him to admit that he's been seeing someone. Jeff is reluctant to share any more, much to the disappointment of the group.

The group catches Professor Slater and Jeff kissing in the library.

Jeff introduces Professor Slater to the group as the woman he's been seeing but makes them promise not to tell anyone. Britta reveals that she's been learning to ap dance and invites them all to the recital. The group teases her for it, so Troy doesn't share his own secret. Then, although no one except Professor Slater has left the library, Dean Pelton asks to see Jeff in his office because the news of the relationship is all over Twitter. It is suspected that Pierce did the Twittering.

Britta confronts Troy about not telling the group about his modern dance class. Troy says that not only is he not going to be in the recital, but he's dropping the class because it's too embarrassing for him.

Shirley mistakes Britta's frustration with Troy as jealousy over Jeff. Britta explains that Professor Slater and Jeff aren't having a real relationship, it's just built around the thrill of secrecy.

Dean Pelton asks Jeff and Professor Slater some questions for a student-teacher relationship form. Jeff says that he does not consider them to be boyfriend and girlfriend, which is a view Professor Slater did not share. She storms out of the office.

Jeff explains to Professor Slater that he liked what they had going on between them, but he wasn't ready for the "boyfriend" label. Professor Slater explains that he was the one who gave her the "friend" label in front of the dean when clearly, she was more than a friend. Jeff says that he really just wants to make it work and she agrees.

It's the night of the recital, and when Annie mentions that Jeff brought his girlfriend, Britta feels slightly jealous because now the relationship seems serious. She performs the role of a teapot/watering can in a bizarre musical number. Pierce makes insulting comments the whole time, but when she sees Jeff and Professor Slater holding hands, Britta gets nervous and freezes. Abed congratulates Britta and Troy, but when she suggests that he take a dance class, Abed passes. Jeff also congratulates Britta and mentions that if it weren't for her teaching him to have a girl as a friend, he wouldn't have been ready to have a girlfriend. He gives her some flowers, but it's obvious Britta's upset. When the stage is finally empty, Abed performs his own impressive tap dance routine.

Troy and Abed do a crossword puzzle where every answer is the name of someone in the study group except Jeff's.
