Pierce is back from rehab and shares stories of meeting famous people there. Joe Biden is visiting Greendale and a student body president must be elected by 5 pm. Annie wants to run. Meanwhile, Abed thinks he sees Secret Service agents everywhere.

The candidates are chosen by the amount of applause they receive from the crowd gathered at the student center. Annie is sincere about her ideas, but Jeff tells her that politics is just about ego and empty promises. To prove this to her, he decides to run against her, and the crowd goes wild for his cliche-ridden platform. While watching the spectacle, Abed is approached by two Secret Service agents who seem suspicious of him.

Troy and Abed break down the statistics of the candidates for the GCC TV station.

Troy catches Agent Vohlers staring at Abed.

Pierce uses his debate time to bully another student for not lending him a pencil. Annie's speech is upstaged by Jeff's sound bites until she makes a sound bite of her own. Agent Vohlers and Abed flirt, sort of.

Pavel tells Abed that their dorm is being trashed. Abed goes there to see Agent Vohlers and Agent Keenlan tearing the room apart. Nothing suspicious is found. Vohlers tells Abed that this was just a random search, but Abed says that he knows it's just a ruse for her to spend time with him because she has a crush on him.

Star Burns drops out of the race for fear a political campaign will shed a negative light on his drug dealing. Annie fights dirty when she shows a humiliating video of Jeff to the entire student body.

Annie and Jeff both pull out of the race and admit that they care about what they think of each other. Meanwhile, Magnitude and Leonard are engaged in a wordless debate, and Vicki stabs Pierce in the cheek with the pencil she refused to lend him.

A TV series is elected president, which frustrates Dean Pelton. Abed mentions on the campus TV station that he knows how to make napalm in order to bring Agent Vohlers back to see him.

Agent Vohlers and Abed carry on a peculiar romance.
