Scene 1 New Friends (00:00:00 - 00:02:24) view scene

Troy and Abed both want to ask the new librarian to the school Valentine's Day dance; Britta announces that her new friend Paige is a lesbian.

Scene 2 Jeff Wants Space (00:02:25 - 00:04:52) view scene

The group wants Jeff to organize an intervention to get Pierce off of taking painkillers, but Jeff just wants some space; Duncan tries to get Jeff to invite him to watch Liverpool vs. Manchester United so that he can see it on his big-screen TV However, the game is on the same day as the Valentine's Dance, and Jeff promised the group that he'd go.

Scene 3 Pierce and the Tiny Man (00:04:53 - 00:05:33) view scene

Pierce talks to the tiny man he sees while on painkillers, who convinces him to keep taking them against his doctor's advice

Scene 4 Romancing the Librarian (00:05:34 - 00:06:28) view scene

Abed and Troy explain their situation to Mariah and ask her to choose one of them to go to the dance with. Mariah says she doesn't know either of them, so they propose that she get to know them at the dance and then choose whom to see again. Mariah agrees.

Scene 5 Homophobia (00:06:29 - 00:07:49) view scene

When Annie askes Britta questions about Paige, Britta tells her she's homophobic. Paige's friend Claire, who immediately tells Annie she's not a lesbian, tells Annie that Paige is heterosexual but thinks she's cool by hanging out with Britta, whom she mistakes for being gay. Britta tells Annie that she and Paige are going to the dance together in hopes she'll be shocked.

Scene 6 Football at Jeff's. (00:07:50 - 00:09:45) view scene

Jeff and Duncan are watching the soccer game, but Jeff is bored. They hear a knock at the door and it's Chang, dressed in Liverpool colors and bringing beer and nunchucks. He immediately smashes Jeff's lamp, which Duncan thinks is hilarious. To make up for it, Change offers to get a pizza. Instead of calling the pizza place, Chang invites Star Burns to Jeff's.

Scene 7 Fancy Footwork (00:09:46 - 00:10:53) view scene

At the dance, Star Burns spreads the word that there's a party at Jeff's place. Abed offers access to his cable channels to Mariah while Troy offers his dance moves. Britta and Paige decide to provoke people by dancing as Annie and Claire look on. Meanwhile, Pierce dances with the tiny man.

Scene 8 Magnitude (00:10:54 - 00:11:29) view scene

Chang uses Jeff's shower and toothbrush, much to his dismay. Before Chang can answer Jeff's question as to why he's grooming himself, Star Burns shows up with a pizza, Leonard, Magnitude, and several other guests.

Scene 9 Choices (00:11:30 - 00:14:37) view scene

Mariah chooses Troy over Abed, but Pierce has to choose between the tiny man and his friends. Britta and Paige unpassionately kiss to make everyone uncomfortable, but soon learn that neither one of them are gay. Troy realizes he doesn't like Mariah because she doesn't like Abed, or any other thing that Troy likes. He rejects her to be with Abed.

Scene 10 Jeff's Regrets (00:14:38 - 00:15:04) view scene

Jeff is confused by the impromptu party, but Chang and Duncan (and everyone else) are having a great time. Jeff feels bad about choosing the game over the dance.

Scene 11 Homophobia is Not Cool (00:15:05 - 00:16:04) view scene

Britta and Paige argue about who was using whom to look cool. After Paige storms out, Annie tells Britta that she thought she was cool for kissing her. They hug and someone yells "Kiss her!" and Annie almost does until Britta straightens her out.

Scene 12 Needing to Be Needed (00:16:05 - 00:19:52) view scene

Jeff discovers that Chang has been washing his clothes in his dishwasher. Chang tells him that he's homeless after his wife kicked him out. It turns out that the party was just a way for Chang to get to stay at Jeff's for three months. Jeff kicks him and everyone else out of the apartment but admits to Duncan that he was beginning to enjoy himself until Chang's plan was revealed.
