Britta confronts Shirley about rejecting her company in the bathroom. Shirley explains to Britta that the ladies' room is a place to share personal information and not be judgemental or unsympathetic. Troy walks in, bursting with new-found confidence as he announces that he is now on the football team. Annie is very upset because he's now the arrogant Troy he was in high school. She tells this to him, but Troy says that Jeff told him she'd say that.

Jeff encounters Pierce and Dean Pelton trying to make the perfect non-ethnic, non-gender-specific mascot. Jeff tells the dean that Troy's on the team now, but Pelton won't get rid of the flyers and posters until Troy shows up for the press at at the pep rally.

Annie demands to know why Jeff is making Troy play football again. He explains the situation to her and she calls him selfish. According to Jeff, Annie is the selfish one: she wants Troy so much that she wants to keep him from doing what he wants just so she can have him all to herself, which she never got to do in high school. Annie knows Jeff is right, but she sulks away.

A distraught Annie asks Shirley to come to the bathroom with her, but Shirley sends Britta to do her job. Annie is hesitant, but she confides her fear that once Troy becomes the star of the football team again, he wouldn't want her because he could have any girl. Annie basically solves her own dilemma, but she thanks Britta anyway. Shirley comes in to hug Britta for finally understanding ladies' room compassion.
