Scene 4
Hatching a Scheme
(00:05:49 - 00:06:37)
view scene
Britta and Jeff watch Vaughn try to teach Annie to surf in the courtyard. Jeff insists that they make a plan to break them up and at first, Britta disagrees. But then it becomes clear that the creepy guys on campus are starting to take notice of sweet little Annie, so she changes her mind.

Chemistry is Sexy
(00:06:38 - 00:08:32)

The problem is, Troy still sees Annie as the braces-wearing, acne-sporting, pill-addicted crazy girl he went to high school with. Jeff whispers a sexy description of the current Annie into his ear and Britta tells him that she's only going out with Vaughn to make him jealous.

view scene
Troy is trying to seduce Annie when Vaughn walks in on them. Troy tells Vaughn that Annie is really in love with him, but she insists that while she did have feelings for him at one time, she only wants Vaughn now. Vaughn doesn't believe her because when he was with Britta, she insisted that she didn't have feelings for Jeff. He dumps her and Annie rejects Troy's subsequent efforts, but not before he let her know that it was Britta and Jeff who informed him of her apparent feelings.
Scene 8
A Premature Celebration

view scene
Pierce arrives at Abed's dorm only to find that the selection for movie night has been changed to Runaway. Britta apologizes to Annie and explains that she and Jeff think of themselves as her Greendale parents and they didn't want her to get hurt. Annie suggests they treat her as an adult and Britta responds by saying that an adult wouldn't date her friends' ex-boyfriends. She may have given her blessing because she doesn't like Vaughn anymore, but she still doesn't like seeing her exes kiss her friends. Jeff is surprised that Britta's intentions the entire time were fueled by jealousy instead of the desire to look out for Annie. Britta thinks that Jeff was motivated by jealousy as well, because he didn't want to see Vaughn kiss his debate/makeout partner. Annie and Jeff defend their kiss because it was the sake of the debate and not at all out of attraction. Troy points out how specific Jeff was when he described Annie's body to him, and in return, Jeff points out how even more specific Troy was in describing his dance partner Britta's body to him. Shirley asks if anyone gets specific about her and Pierce tells her to check her email. Annie tells the group that Shirley isn't innocent either, as she points out Jeff's body whenever he wears tight pants. Shirley mentions that Abed and Troy have a creepy relationship themselves. They all agree that they're not a family as long as each of them could be a potential sexual partner for the other. Annie then expresses just how much she and Vaughn care for each other.
